FAQs

What can I expect in a counselling session?

A session usually lasts 50 minutes. I recommend weekly sessions. Between sessions, clients are encouraged to think about and process what was discussed. At times, you may be asked to do something specific outside of the therapy sessions, such as reading a relevant book or keeping records/ diary. For the therapy to "work," you must be an active participant, both during and between the therapy sessions.

What benefits can I expect from working with a counsellor?

A number of benefits are available from participating. Often it is helpful just to know that someone understands. Counselling can provide a fresh perspective on a difficult problem or point you in the direction of a solution.

The benefits you obtain from counselling depend on how you use the process and put into practice what you learn about yourself and changes you may wish to make to your lifestyle and relationships.

Do you accept insurance?

How Many Sessions Will I Need

I tend to work in six week blocks. This is a recognised effective timeframe to work therapeutically within. We then have a review and decide what the best next action is.
